Freedom
The word lingered in his mind as he drew his first breath
Justice
Prime directive of his life from now 'till his next death
Wake up
On a galleon's deck, blue sails catch the sun
Stand up
No time to waste, there is work to be done
The pirate lords are gonna wish
They made their living catching fish
The Blue Corsair is coming for them all (She's coming)
Run and hide or stand and fight
They'll feel Del Nova's ruthless bite
A revenant with a grudge
Will be their judge!
Bound to his necromantic soul
Supernatural control
Dreams and nightmares will come true
Under the striking sails of blue
Unheard
No crew to command she slips through the night
Unmatched
In speed she strikes like an arrow in flight
Demon
Pirates spoke of a ship sailed back out of Hell
Witchcraft
Others claimed it the work of a sinister spell
Word spread fast across the waves
Of the captain immune to the grave
Fell on the ears of those who wished for change (Change)
Driven by the thrilling tales
They cast blue paint upon their sails
They gambled with their lives to change the tides
Children grew up and captain's aged
In between the cracks the battle raged
Evil where pirate banners flew
Justice in a fleet with sails of blue
The conquest of a generation's lives
Ended with the battle of red tides
The last stand of the final pirate lord
The day she fell upon Del Nova's sword

The embers of war
Dimmed and burned away
The pain and the memories
Fade with each new day
But for Captain Del Nova
Though peace he held most dear
This new age brought questions
And existential fear
His task completed yet he lingered on
Like a sword kept sharpened but never drawn
Longing for answers and craving release
No place for a ghost in a world of peace
Haunted by visions
In every hour of sleep
An alien maelstrom
Draws demons from the deep
Distracted and distant
An honoured recluse
He climbs up the gallows
And ties himself a noose
The unearthly forces that once revived him
Appeared to him once more and in harmony apprised him
"Sail to the east under the emerald star,
Once more act as our avatar."
Captain Del Nova
Recalls his fleet
One more adventure
And he will be complete

Over the horizon to the exotic east
Where mesas break the ocean like leviathan teeth
Guided by a star that shone in night and day
A harbinger of doom from which they could not stray
Del Nova's blood ran cold when he first laid his sight
On the maelstrom that had cursed his every sleepless night
The vortex grew more violent as if sentient and aware
Grim anticipation hung like sulfur in the air
SINKING IN REVERSE THE STRANGE SHIPS ARRIVE
CARRIED FROM BEYOND ON A DIMENSIONAL TIDE
HULLS OF TWISTED WOOD AND CHROME, AURA OF DREAD
NIGHTMARE FIGURES HOWLING LIKE AN ARMY OF THE DEAD
The battle won
Though many lost the victors still
Smile through their tears
The threat is gone
The eerie silence shattered as the
Air fills with cheers
But as the maelstrom fades
Del Nova feels the weight
Of his continued unnatural undeath
He looks away and far
And sees the emerald star
Dive into the maelstrom's depths
Reading the sign
He knows it is time
Captain
Del Nova
Sails into the unknown
The maelstrom
A gateway
To a world unlike his own
His burden
Is lifted
His cursed days are done
He leaves
The world in the
Hands of the young!
